With this mix, we’re paying homage to the roots of UK Garage. It's a big deal for us because it was a key part of our early music journey, which started alongside our passion for rave, jungle, and d’n’b sounds. UKG often sparked conversations about the evolution of bass music, and a shared love for the female vocals from early soul and R&B records was crucial to the whole project. We grew up obsessing over tracks from EL-B, Zed Bias, and MJ Cole, while looping the early albums of The Streets that tie the whole story together.
This is our second themed mix for Polish National Radio 4 "Czwórka," hosted by the legend himself—Harper. We've handpicked some rare vinyl records from our collection, but we didn’t want the tracklist to be too obvious, so expect plenty of B-sides and bootlegs. We hope this mix will be a great history lesson for genre fans and the perfect way to kick off the weekend with positive vibes, pushing away those gloomy autumn clouds for a while.
